Maximum Demand Customers
Payment System

The Maximum Demand (MD) Customer Payment System is a remote reading, billing, payment and control system, using Power Line Communication (PLC) for data transfer as a part of the wide applications of the Collectric™ system.

The data concentrator reads the active & reactive meters to calculate the credit balance remaining according to a billing formula consisting of power consumption (kWh), maximum demand (kVA), reactive consumption (kVAh), Time Of Use tariffs (TOU) and more.

The Portable Display Unit (PDU) plugged in a normal power outlet displays the credit balance along with other relevant data. This allows the responsible person to follow up the power consumption and to decide on additional energy credit purchase. The PDU is personalized and will not operate with an unauthorized data concentrator.

The same small pocket-carried PDU is used for loading the new energy credit in the district's computerized selling point. It transfers the customers energy data to the selling point customer data base, and it carries back the new purchased credit . It also synchronizes the data concentrator to the central clock. (Especially important for time dependant billing such as Time Of Use tariffs).

The data concentrator switches off the customer's power when credit expires, giving him audible alarm in advance and an additional emergency credit to last during the new credit purchase process.

The data concentrator detects all types of fraud including tampering, bypassing, CT manipulation reverse counting and more. All frauds are been reported to the district selling point.
